New York National Guard CERFP Team Alpha Instructor. CERFP stands for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, High Yield Explosive Enhanced Response Force Package. It is a modified version of the US Army 74D MOS. Our mission was to respond to large-scale CBRNE events where the population was contaminated with chemical, biological, radiological dirty bomb, or nuclear incidents. We were tasked with establishing Hot Zone, Warm Zone, and Cold Zone operations and trained to handle all types of CBRNE threats, from nerve agents to radiological dirty bomb incidents, including large-scale decontamination of civilian populations in the shortest possible time. After certification with the US 1st Army, we became instructors for Army National Guard, Air National Guard, and US Army Reserve units assigned to CERFP task forces. I also served in the New York State Guard as a 42A Human Resources Specialist where I served as Brigade S1 NCO supervising 3 to 5 soldiers handling enlistments, promotions, and discharges. I also trained in firearms and participated in The Adjutant General Senior National Guard General Match Event focused on combat weapon accuracy. I also attended United States Marine Corps Boot Camp but was medically discharged due to asthma, which has since fully resolved.
