Mines ILDU

Beware of mines

In any modern war, knowledge of explosive device designs and purposes is the key to survival and victory.

In addition to a wide range of standard mining devices, Russian occupiers employ all kinds of tripwires and improvised explosive devices. Ignoring the rules of International Humanitarian Law — and often even basic logic — they mine everything: personal belongings, weapons, ammunition, wallets, children’s toys, and even the corpses of their fallen comrades.

Under the guidance of experienced instructors, armed not only with specialized training but also with real combat experience, the soldiers of the 2nd International Legion constantly refine their mine safety knowledge.

Instructors share situations from their own experience, telling how they and their brothers-in-arms managed to survive and complete missions despite the enemy’s well-camouflaged explosive devices.

Combat training — including mine safety — is a process that never stops in the Legions, since new enemy tactics and methods are constantly being discovered. These must be communicated to the soldiers in time. After all, forewarned is forearmed.

Side by side with foreign volunteers, Ukrainians also serve in the 2nd International Legion. In the breaks between active combat operations, they continuously improve their professional skills to be ready for any surprises.
