Silver Dog from Norway is professionally annihilating Russian occupiers
Silver Dog, a soldier of the 3rd International Legion of Defense of Ukraine, radiates unshakable strength and unbridled power with his entire appearance. He instantly gives the impression of a real-life “death machine” from action movies and evokes a single thought: “Thankfully, he is on our side!” Although the legionnaire's combat experience proves that this impression is not deceptive, Silver Dog is very deep and multifaceted.
“I'm from Norway. I've had about 20 different jobs,” says the warrior. “My most recent civilian profession was a blacksmith. I worked where metal is forged. I was also a cook, an artist, a service engineer at a telephone company, a bit of an electrician, and did various other things.”
The man has been in Ukraine for almost a year and a half, spending more than a half of that time in the International Legion. He knows how to and loves to annihilate Russian occupiers, and he has saved the lives of his comrades more than once. To be more effective, he constantly trains, improves his lethal skills, learns from others, and develops his inventions. In between combat missions, he attends various drone schools.
Of course, war is a severe challenge. Even the best legionnaires face difficult times while performing combat missions:
“The hardest thing is the uncertainty. You don't know when and what will happen, or how long it will last. Sometimes it's fatigue, sometimes it's food. Sometimes it's how long the artillery shelling will last, sometimes it's how long you have to stay, how long you have to wait to see your loved ones. So, perhaps the hardest thing is time.”
But alongside the challenges, Silver Dog sees positive and enjoyable aspects in his dangerous work:
“Hearing your first Grad rocket is quite interesting when it comes to combat. It's not like anything you've heard in civilian life. The most fascinating thing about the service is the people you work with. You see many different people with different personalities. Of course, you may not get along with some of them, but you get along well with others, and this friendship is very valuable.”
Thanks to his courage, skill, and professionalism, Silver Dog easily and effortlessly destroys enemy personnel, disregarding the mortal danger to his life. But in those moments, he doesn't think about the threat to himself, because even in such circumstances, he has not lost his humanity and true nobility:
“During night reconnaissance missions, we use thermal imagers to detect the enemy easily. Once we spot the Russians, our bombers fly in and bomb them. It's almost like watching a video on YouTube. It feels a little surreal because you know that people are dying. But you just see a white silhouette falling with something like fog around it. Yes, we spot them and give our guys the opportunity to destroy them. But it makes you think about the value of life.”
The legionnaire respects the customs of Norwegian warriors, as they are very much in line with his personality. Silver Dog has a special relationship with his weapons as a good soldier, without forgetting his sense of humor.
“I even promised some of my drones that I would give them names, at least two of them: one will be 'Reino' and the other 'Arnstein'. According to the Norwegian custom, weapons are given female names as they must be loved and cared for. I called my old rifle “Tonje,” but I guess my girlfriend may be a little upset, so let's call it “Anna” for now.”
Silver Dog loves his job and loves Ukraine. He intends to tie his future to this job and to the land he defends with his blood:
“I plan to continue working with drones, either in the military or under a private contract. I’m working on some ideas for my propeller and drone designs. I’m interested in further developing this field. I want to live in Ukraine. I have found my special someone. I have already spoken to my commander about citizenship and, in any case, I am staying here. I will probably buy a house. My dream is to have a small vegetable garden. I love Ukraine, so I’m planning to stay.
We traditionally asked the warrior what the International Legion means to him personally:
“The Legion for me? Oh, that's a difficult question. Never give up! That's what the Legion means to me. We want to win. We want to show them that we are here and fighting. That's what the Legion means to me.”
Glory to Ukraine!
The soldier of the 3rd International Legion of Defense of Ukraine with the call sign Silver Dog calmly and coolly carries out combat missions, without forgetting to respect the value of human life. An artist, engineer, inventor, romantic, and true knight, he fights for the girl he loves and the land he has come to love, leaving the enemy no chance. He is one of those stopping the modern manifestation of an ancient evil with his weapon and courage. He is a legionnaire of the free world.
