The war will not end without you

Soldiers of the 3rd International Legion of Defense of Ukraine called on people to join the army.

These men are members of the 3rd International Legion of Defense of Ukraine. The soldiers had just finished an exhausting shift at their combat position and were returning to their place of rest. All of them are volunteers who have been fighting alongside their brothers-in-arms from the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after Ivan Sirko for many months, and some for years, against the russian occupiers. The legionnaires' words are sincere and direct, because these people are not talking about abstract concepts, but about decisions they made long ago. They risk their lives every day, destroying the horde, and they know very well what a decisive step costs in life and why it is worth taking.

Oleksandr has been on the front line for almost a year. He recently returned after being wounded and concussed to continue fighting alongside his brothers in arms.

– I volunteered a lot and was a journalist for the first two years. And I asked myself: “If I tell everyone that the military is very important, that the work they do is important, that they need to be supported, then why am I not there myself?” I decided that I needed to find a unit and be more effective. First and foremost, I came here for my family, my wife, my friends, my parents, and the country I love.

I am very happy with our unit and how the work is organized, how the guys and girls interact with each other. It is important to me that the commanders care about us and do everything they can to ensure that we do our job well.

A sergeant with the call sign “Borsuk” also started the war as a volunteer. Even then, he had to fly under enemy mines and shells instead of driving. Eventually, “Borsuk” found his team among his military friends and continues to hold the front-line side by side with them, only now with a weapon in his hands.

“We have weapons. We have equipment,” says the legionnaire, showing off his modern gear.

“We have everything we need to destroy the enemy and defend our land and our families. But we don't have the most important thing — we don't have you,” adds his comrade, officer Dmytro.

“This war will not end without you,” concludes Borsuk. “Join us. We are waiting.”
