I completed paramilitary training with the National Youth Service (NYS) in Kenya, where I received instruction in basic military-style discipline, physical fitness, drill, fieldcraft, and first aid. My training also included teamwork, leadership, and emergency response skills. During my service with NYS, I participated in national disaster response operations in support of the Kenya Defence Forces and other government agencies. These operations included assisting during fire outbreaks, drought relief efforts, and flood response. My responsibilities involved supporting emergency operations, helping affected communities, and working effectively within structured, disciplined teams under challenging conditions. Although I have not served as a member of the regular military, my NYS training and disaster response experience have prepared me to work in demanding environments, follow orders, adapt quickly, and contribute effectively as part of a professional team.
